Hudsun Trust were the victors in the BVI Finance annual members’ event held on July 25th at Bamboushay Restaurant and Lounge. This year’s event once again featured the game "Culture Shock” and a lively competition among nine teams vying for the top spot.
Culture Shock is a trivia card game based on Virgin Islands lifestyle, history and culture with categories including food, music, superstition, school days, politics, nature and things we say.
After a close battle, Hudsun Trust ultimately clinched first place, followed by Trident in second. National Bank of the Virgin Islands and Walkers tied for third place.
The event was hosted by Kyra James Douglas, founder of Kickin It, a local non-profit dedicated to cultural preservation in the Virgin Islands. Kyra, also the creator of "Culture Shock," led the festivities alongside co-host Gareth Thomas, Managing Director at Ocorian.
The participating teams included Exness, Hudsun Trust, MMG (with two teams), National Bank of the Virgin Islands, TMF (with two teams), Trident, and Walkers. The nine teams, comprising of four members each, were cheered on by enthusiastic supporters as the competition heated up.
Each team’s knowledge was put to the test as they raced against the clock to answer a wide range of questions about Virgin Islands culture. Several curveballs were thrown in the form of challenging questions about the BVI’s financial services industry.
