The conference brought together just under 6,000 members representing risk management, patient safety, insurance, law, finance and other related professions in the American healthcare industry. As a sponsor, BVI Finance had the opportunity to host a spotlight session to share information on how the BVI’s insurance options can play a role in managing enterprise risk and enterprise financing. Representing the BVI at this conference were BVI Finance Marketing Manager, Alicia Green, ACI, and, from the Financial Services Commission, Trevecca Hodge and Jasmine Richards.

Green said the objective at this this conference was to educate attendees on BVI’s offerings to the healthcare industry. “Attendance at ASHRM allowed us to educate senior healthcare professionals about our jurisdiction. We have to ensure that potential customers know about our offerings and promote and market our jurisdiction, especially with the legislative and regulatory changes that have been proposed to keep pace with the growing needs of our clients in the risk financing market.”

ASHRM promotes effective and innovative risk management strategies and professional leadership through education, recognition, advocacy, publications, networking and interactions with leading healthcare organisations and government agencies. The conference is a valuable learning opportunity for persons in the healthcare field as it specifically targets all risk concerns surrounding patient care and hospital administration.

Attendance at the conference also allowed BVI regulators to meet with existing clients and managers to discuss matters of their current interactions with the jurisdiction all in an effort to ensure the needs of clients are being met as well as fact finding and anticipating the changes in the captive business.
