BVI Finance, in collaboration with the BVI International Arbitration Centre, OAC Group, and IGNUS Solutions Limited, hosted a dynamic and engaging professional development training session for students enrolled in the Tomorrow’s Leaders Internship Programme.
The training session, one of several initiatives under the broader internship programme, reaffirmed the commitment of BVI Finance and its partners to equip young professionals with essential skills that extend beyond the workplace.
The event featured presentations from notable industry professionals who shared valuable insights on career development, personal branding, and digital professionalism:
• Shan Greer, CEO of the BVI International Arbitration Centre, welcomed students and delivered an inspiring presentation on Strategic Career Planning. Her talk encouraged interns to think intentionally about their long-term professional goals and the steps required to achieve them.
• Simone Martin, Founder and CEO of Ignus Solutions, presented Social Media & You - Considerations for Your Professional Path. Her engaging session challenged students to view social media as a strategic tool and offered tips on how to manage their digital presence effectively.
• Shea Alexander, Founder and Principal Consultant at OAC Group, conducted a hands-on workshop focused on LinkedIn and Résumé Building. Students were guided through best practices for creating impactful résumés and optimizing their LinkedIn profiles to reflect their career ambitions.
In addition to the training sessions, students had the opportunity to have professional headshots taken, an essential asset for building a polished online presence and personal brand.
“This session was designed to give our interns tools they can use now and in the future,” said Shamahl A. Smith , Programme lead and Communications & Research Officer at BVI Finance. “We’re proud to offer not only valuable workplace experience but also real-world guidance that helps our students thrive as they prepare to enter the global workforce.”
