BVI Finance, in partnership with the BVI International Arbitration Centre (BVI IAC), successfully promoted the British Virgin Islands as a premier international finance centre during the International Bar Association (IBA) Conference 2025 in Toronto. The joint presence reinforced the BVI’s reputation as a leading, well-regulated jurisdiction offering a full spectrum of financial, corporate, and dispute-resolution services.
Rhodni Skelton, Director of Marketing & Business Development at BVI Finance, represented the jurisdiction’s financial services sector alongside Shan Greer, CEO of the BVI IAC, who showcased the strength and sophistication of the Territory’s arbitration framework.
Throughout the week, Team BVI hosted more than 20 targeted one-on-one meetings with prospective partners, law firms, investors, and corporate advisors. These discussions reflected broad global interest in the Territory, with inquiries spanning:
- Company structures and incorporations
- Investment funds and regulatory insight
- Trusts and estate planning
- Arbitration and cross-border dispute resolution
- Registration of vessels and yacht-related services
The collaboration between BVI Finance and the BVI IAC demonstrated the strength of the BVI’s ecosystem—where robust legal frameworks, modern arbitration capabilities, and internationally respected financial services work in tandem to support global business.
“IBA 2025 provided an invaluable platform for us to highlight the BVI’s evolving position as a trusted and forward-thinking international finance centre,” said Rhodni Skelton. “Our meetings underscored strong global confidence in the BVI and reaffirmed the Territory’s relevance across multiple sectors.”
Shan Greer added, “Promoting the depth of our arbitration services alongside BVI Finance showcases the synergies within our ecosystem. The BVI IAC continues to stand as a first-choice arbitral seat for global entities seeking efficient, neutral, and discreet dispute resolution.”
Team BVI’s presence at IBA 2025 marks another milestone in the Territory’s ongoing efforts to expand international engagement, deepen global partnerships, and strengthen the BVI’s position as a jurisdiction of choice for cross-border commerce and dispute resolution.
