Financial Services Expo To Showcase Job, Entrepreneurship Opportunities

18/12/2017

Financial Services businesses will join with BVI Finance and other stakeholders to present an expo showcasing employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in the financial services sector.

The Financial Services Opportunities Expo will take place in the first quarter of 2018, according to event chairman Meade Malone.

“The objective of the expo is to connect job-seekers and entrepreneurs with decision makers at financial services businesses, in order to help BVIslanders and others in our community access opportunities which exist in the sector,” Malone said.

Malone said that in addition to highlighting current vacancies in the sector, the expo will open doors for participants seeking to prepare themselves for future opportunities.

Lorna Smith OBE, Interim Executive Director of BVI Finance, stated: “Financial Service firms in the BVI recongise that more can be done to provide individuals with an on-ramp to careers and business opportunities in financial services.

It is our vision that this expo will serve as a marketplace where financial services firms are able to connect with available talent, as well as potential suppliers and service providers.”

Malone, who is also Managing Partner of MWM Global Holdings, invited individuals and entrepreneurs interested in pre-registering for the expo to contact BVI Finance at events@bvifinance.vg. Registration details and the date of the expo will be announced in January.

The expo is one of several projects being undertaken by the Committee to Revitalize Financial Services, one of six working groups established by Government in October to hasten and spearhead post-hurricane recovery.
