The Government of the Virgin Islands recently announced the appointment of Sherri Ortiz-Fahie as the Interim Director of BVI House Asia, effective 1st October 2018.
In that capacity she will manage the day to day operations of BVI House Asia and be the BVI’s official representative in Asian Pacific region. Other responsibilities in her post as Interim Director of BVI House Asia include strengthening the Territory’s voice and promoting the BVI’s reputation; identifying business development opportunities and maintaining relationships with counterparts in provinces throughout China and the Asia Pacific region.
Commenting, Lorna Smith, OBE, Interim Executive Director of BVI Finance said: “Having worked with Sherri for many years, it’s a pleasure to welcome her as the head of BVI House Asia. With our 25-year history of partnership with Asia Pacific region, it is vital that we continue to strengthen and expand that relationship by having someone on the ground, who like her predecessor understands how important that market is to the BVI's financial services industry. Equally it is important that our representative can be responsive in real-time, giving clients in that region the utmost care.”
