BVI Finance Limited recently hosted an event at the East , Miami Hotel on 5^th November to update the legal and private banking communities on the BVI developments and the advantages of doing business in the territory.  Miami remains a major hub for Latin American business and the presentations were focused on how BVI can help the LatAm market plan for wealth transfer and succession.

The BVI has long done business with Latin America and recognizes the specific challenges and opportunities afforded by that market.  The Miami event followed attendance at the STEP LatAm conference in Mexico City in early October where BVI Finance was also able to engage directly with professionals from the region as well as Miami. 

In Miami attendees heard of the latest developments in the use of BVI companies, trusts and mutual funds with a special emphasis on assisting LatAm clients with their estate planning and succession issues.  Interim Executive Director of BVI Finance Lorna Smith, OBE,  led the delegation which included local BVI practitioners as well as professionals from elsewhere who focus on the BVI business. 

A reception followed the presentations where more one on one discussions were possible.  Feedback has been excellent, and it is very likely that similar events will follow in 2019 as we continue to maintain the profile of the BVI in this key region.
