BVI Finance Appoints New Head of Business Development and Marketing

BVI Finance Limited is pleased to confirm the appointment of Simon Gray as Head of Business Development and Marketing, effective 3rd December 2018.
In this role he will lead the efforts of BVI Finance in promoting the territory’s international business and finance services both locally and overseas. Gray comes to BVI Finance from a position as Special Adviser to the Chief Executive Officer of the BVI Financial Services Commission (FSC) and has extensive experience in the financial services industry including several years with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
Gray is an expert in Islamic Finance as well as being a published author and public speaker. He has spent much of his working life in the private sector with senior roles at Baring Asset Management and Barclays Wealth. He has a law degree and MBA and is a Fellow of the Chartered Securities and Investments Institute, as well as a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Services. Gray also holds Fellowships with the Corporate Governance Institute and the International Compliance Association.
Commenting on the appointment, Interim Executive Director of BVI Finance Lorna Smith, OBE, said: “I am delighted that Simon has joined us as he brings significant resources to both the business development and marketing aspects of BVI Finance. Dubai is a market in which BVI expects to be active going forward. Simon's significant experience with the development of the Dubai International Finance Centre together with his knowledge of Islamic Financing are therefore both significant assets. Additionally, Simon spent three years in the BVI with the FSC which further supports the contribution that we expect him to make to the financial services industry.”
Simon Gray added, “I am delighted to be joining BVI Finance in this business development and marketing role. The international financial services landscape is changing rapidly as we know with various initiatives under way which will require us to closely monitor developments in order to respond effectively to enhance the reputation of the territory.
