Harneys Donates Over $6K towards VISAR Equipment

29/03/2019

Harneys donated $6735.00 for the purchase of a lifesaving Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and other equipment needed for Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR) personnel to assist in future aid activities.

Managing Partner, Colin Riegels said that he is proud to have Harneys dedicate funding towards such a vital service in our community.  “We are happy to assist VISAR in their mission of saving lives at sea. Safety is paramount in any location at any time, so preparation and quickness is key. The AED is a lifesaving piece of equipment that provides crucial assistance to VISAR's crew.”

Julie Schneider of VISAR said that the AED purchased is an advanced model. “The AED model is one of the newest systems existing and while we wish that we never have to use it, it has been proven to give a person who has suffered a cardiac arrest the best chance of survival until we can get them to the hospital.”

Harneys sponsors various community groups through Harneys Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. Harneys' CSR activities primarily consist of four focus areas: helping the most vulnerable in our local communities, preserving our environment, promoting arts and culture and investing in young people. These core values guide Harneys’ efforts and assessments, and are helpful to consider when applying for sponsorship through Harneys.
