The 2020 Financial Services Awards show, which premiered on March 28, was a virtual celebration of the BVI’s top industry partners.
BVI Finance CEO Ms. Elise Donovan said, “This year’s awards is testament to the resiliency and vigour of the BVI financial services industry. The industry partners continue to expand our product and service offerings, and develop the human capital to provide the necessary expertise to exceed expectations. BVI Finance celebrates all the winners and nominees, and affirms our support as the voice of the industry, worldwide.”
This year’s big winner is KPMG BVI, who received three awards, including Auditor of the Year, Accounting Firm of the Year, and Insolvency Practice of the Year.
Other winners include O’Neal Webster for Best Corporate Social Responsibility; the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission for Regulator of the Year; Bank of Asia for Tech Savvy Firm of the Year; CIBC First Caribbean Bank for Bank of the Year; Nagico Insurance for Insurance Agency of the Year; Ogier for Litigation Practice of the Year; and TMF for Corporate Services Provider of the Year.
Compliance Officer of the Year is T’sa James-Hodge of Ogier; Lawyer of the Year is Vanessa King of O’Neal Webster; and winner of the Future Leaders Award is Ayana S. Hull of Harneys.
Sunday’s entertainers included Mr. Caribbean World Yohance Smith who sang the Virgin Islands Territorial song; pianist Mr. Richard Sawney; the ESHS Lady Rams Dance Group; and Miss World BVI Rikkiya Braithwaite. Mrs. Angelle Cameron of VISTRA was the event’s host.
The 2020 Financial Services Awards saw a total of 4,407 votes. Each category was verified by BVI Finance and independent sources.
