BVI PROMOTED AS THE PREMIER YACHTING DESTINATION AT 63RD FORT LAUDERDALE INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW
04/11/2022
The BVI created waves of interest from prospective buyers and visitors as an exhibitor at this year’s 63rd Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) that took place from October 26 to 30.
A delegation of representatives from the Virgin Islands Shipping Registry (VISR), BVI Tourist Board, BVI Finance and its member firms O’Neal Webster and ATU, managed the BVI booth that saw thousands of visitors each exhibition day.
Director of VISR John Samuel stated, “The BVI’s participation in FLIBS is important because it is the first post-covid show of its kind, and it reminded the maritime industry that the BVI is open for business and the Virgin Islands is ready to serve.”
John also explained the importance of the role of VISR and a collaborative approach to attending shows and networking events stating, “the collaborative aspect to the attendance of the shows allows all questions posed to be easily answered by each attending agency. It also helps with the creation of a strong team, with the ability to bring not only maritime but a larger variety of business to the BVI.”
FLIBS is one of the greatest boat shows owned by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida and is recognized as the largest in-water boat show in the world. It spans nearly 90 acres, across three million square feet of exhibit space and 100,000 attendees and 1,000 exhibitors representing 52 countries and 1300 boats on display.
